He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Lee and Myrtle Marie Green (Newman); and his brothers, Charles E., James L., Robert E., Elmer L., Wayne, Rickie M. and Michael Green.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Felice Green (Ferrell); his brothers, Phillip M. Green (Judy) and Dennis L. Green (Sheila); his daughter Ashley Steele; and his granddaughters, Megan and Madison. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, Vanderbilt Heart Center or St. David's Episcopal Church.
