She was predeceased by: her parents, James Richard (Jim) and Bessie Pearl Vingard Blackwell; her husband James Floyd Hays (Tip); her sons, James Edward and Thomas Wayne Hays; and her siblings, Lucille Blackwell Hendrix, Bertha Mae Blackwell, Carl Wesley Blackwell, Leslie Blackwell, Lorene Blackwell Reeves, James Loyce Blackwell (Crat), Alice Mable Blackwell Biggs, Thomas Edward Blackwell, Rayvon Blackwell (Tadpole) and Myrtle Blackwell Weatherford of Virginia. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
