He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Lou Reeves Townsend and Herman Townsend. He is survived by: his wife Alma Greer Townsend of Parsons, Tennessee.; his son David Townsend (Katie) of Parsons, Tennessee.; and his sister Patricia Townsend McIlvain of Jackson, Tennessee..
