It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles M. Herndon Jr. of Parsons, Tennessee, who passed away on November 12, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladious B. Herndon and Charlie M. Herndon; and his siblings, Bobby Ray Herndon, Doris June Sossaman and Joyce Adams.
He is survived by: his nieces, Leticia Celeste Sossaman (Mike), Cindy Reynolds and Cathy Howard; his nephew Dennis J. Sossaman (Glinda); and his close friends, Joe Paul Myracle, Tanya Gant and Brooke Bedwell.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Parsons Mortuary Chapel (134 W 2nd St, Parsons, TN 38363). A burial was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at the Mt. Tabor Cemetery (1840 Old Decaturville Rd, Parsons, TN 38363).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Decatur County Elks Lodge Scholarship Fund in memory of "Chod".
