It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Margret Proffitt Smith of Parrottsville, Tennessee, born in Del Rio, Tennessee, who passed away on June 8, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Jack C. Smith; her parents, Wallace Proffitt and Edith Easterly Proffitt; her brother Everette Proffitt; her sister-in-law Millie Proffitt Dehn; and her son-in-law Colonel John Lyles.
She is survived by: her daughter Diane Smith Lyles-Bailey (Martin) of Parrottsville; her granddaughters, Lauren Lyles Rubac (Marvin) of Mansfield, TX and Ashley Lyles Mayou (Josh) of Round Rock, TX; her great grandchildren, Abby Rubac Magin (Corey) of San Antonio, TX, Cole Rubac of Plainview, TX, Maggie Rubac of Mansfield, TX, Logan Mayou of Lubbock, TX and Tyler Mayou of Cedar Park; her close friends, Rita Cope and Janice Smith; and also, Meredith Bailey Fawver, Dr. Travis Fawver, Bridgette, Mason, Benjamin, James of Knoxville, Malerie Bailey Bloomquist, Robert Bloomquist, Landon, Allison, Katelynn, Weston, Tessa Bailey, Truman and Kara of Newport.
With Covid-19 rules in place, friends and family may come by Manes Funeral Home on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 11 am to 4 pm to sign the guest register.
