She was predeceased by: her parents, James Elmer Stewart and Haultress Lee Walker Stewart; her husband David Leslie Carpenter; and her siblings, Peggy Waldren, Doris Owens, Earl, Michael, Jackie and Thomas Stewart.
She is survived by: her children, Jewel Chenault of Paris, Tracy E. Laughrey of Florida, Terry Ray Harless (Vonna) of Scott City, Roger D. Harless (Carol) of Florida and Christopher D. Harless (Vicky) of New York; and her siblings, Margaret Smith of Florida and Richard Stewart of Buchanan. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
