He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilliard Mealer and Lida O'Guin Mealer; his wife Inge Mealer; and his children, Donna Putnam, Craig Mealer and Kevin Mealer.
He is survived by: his son Walter "Tom" Mealer (Debby) of Benton, KY; and his brother Earl Mealer (Sandy) of Puryear, TN. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
