He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Monroe Roberts Sr. and Vergie Shrum Roberts; his siblings, Marie Nunley, Inez Green, James Sweeton and Ted Sweeton; his wife Lucy Crabtree Roberts; his sons, Kenny Roberts (Patricia) and Mark Roberts (Christy); his grandchildren, Kendra Fincher (Waylon), Rena Meeks and Jon-Luc Roberts (Hannah); and his great grandchild Alycia. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
