He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Donatell and Ruth Petersen Donatell; and his wife Judith Marie Donatell.
Survivors include: two daughters, Alex Nelson, of Johnson City, and Meredith Whitney Donatell, of Ooltehwah, TN; and two grandsons, Parker and Cooper Nelson, both of Johnson city. At a later date, Mr. Donatell will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN, following private committal services.
