He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Laxton and Gustava Laxton (Acres); his siblings, Laura Dyer and Delbert Laxton; and his granddaughter Cristy Leigh Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Hughla Cornn Laxton; his children, Karen Sharp (Darrell) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Kirk Laxton (Rhonda) of Winfield, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Michael Laxton (Erin), Leslie Smelcer (Matt), Travis Laxton (Lizz), Marcus Laxton and Daniel Sharp; his stepgrandson Derek Sharp (Whitney); his great grandchildren, Miles, Ava, Scarlett, Marron and Elden; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Brylie, Brodie, Lily, River, Mila and Amelia. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
