He was predeceased by: his parents, James Slaven and Sandra "Joyce" Slaven (Jones); his mother-in-law Bessie Slaven; his sister-in-law Christine "Slaven" Boyatt (Caney); and his brother Kenny Slaven.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Slaven; his son Gregory Michael Slaven (Angelina); his grandson Jayden; his siblings, Jerry Slaven (Diane) of Oneida and Candi Slaven of Lebanon, TN; his siblings-in-law, Freeman Slaven (Betty) and Faye Slaven of Oneida; and his nieces and nephews, Shane Slaven, Mark Slaven, Curtis Boyatt, Mary Boyatt, Michael Boyatt, Darral VanGoethem, Amanda Cross, Michelle White and Adam Eckstein.
