He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie 'Bill' and Agnes Coffey Mays; his wife Patricia 'Pat Phillips Mays; his sister Sue; his brothers-in-law, Joe Brooks, Dr. Thomas Stanley and Jack Phillips; his niece Donna Sue Stanley; and his parents-in-law, Tobe and Lona Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Tobey Mays (Janet), Kenia Bowling (Mark) and Patrick Mays (Vickie); his grandchildren, Maci Mays, Colbey Caldwell (Aaron), Nate Bowling (Trinity), Aaron Bowling, Hogan Mays, Emily Carson (John) and Jen Watters; his sister Dorothy Stanley; his niece Henrietta Upchurch (Roger); his nephews, Jody Brooks and Steven Stanley (Myrna); and his close friend Patty Hughes. He is also survived by other family members and friends.
