He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Garrett and Nora Maxwell Boyatt Garrett; and his brother Chester Garrett. He is survived by: his wife Lois Lowther Garrett; his children, Derae Daugherty of Loudon, George Daugherty (Angela) of Alcoa, Shannon Smith (Dennis) of Oliver Springs, Shawn Daugherty (Jamie) of Alcoa, Gerry Garrett (Holly) of Orlando and Dustin Garrett (Tabitha) of Oneida, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Lauren Vandee (Wes), Sierra Hood (Houston), Phillip McCarter (Kaity), David Miles, Austin Miles, Amber Mayes, Whitney Carson, Derek Daugherty, Courtney Daugherty, Haleigh Hairston (TY), Delaney Daugherty, Makayla Daugherty, Denny Garrett, Jared Garrett and Avery Daugherty; his brothers, Randy Garrett, David Garrett and Alan Garrett; and his sister-in-law Alice Grove. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
