He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Bob" Strong and Maudie North Strong; his son Robert Chad Strong; his brother Truman Strong; his stepbrother Elbert Mosley; and his half-siblings, George Strong, Kelly Strong, Henry Strong, Ray Strong, James Strong, Chester Strong, Eugene North, Lottie Lewis, Ruth McVey and Lucy Strong.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Strong; his children, Nicholas Adam Strong (Vanessa), Jodi Strong of Hamilton, KY., Mary Vitek (Kurtis), Bonnie Richmond and Scheryl Stout of Clinton, TN.; and his siblings, Michael Strong (Penny), Paul Strong (Michelle), Jackie Bentley (Ben) of Hyden, KY., Dorothy Wagner of Hyden, KY., Opal Estep of Hyden, KY. and Nancy Hibbitts (Stanley) of Hyden, KY.. He is also survived by grandchildren & treasured great grandchildren.
