He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda Ruth Hunter; his parents, Clifford Hunter and Naomi Taylor Hunter; his siblings, Leon Hunter, Ray Hunter, Jimmy Hunter, Lester Hunter, Nadene McMahan, Euvena Carroll and Earleen "Dimple" Quilliams; and his mother-in-law J. P. (Millie Turpin).
He is survived by: his son Steve Hunter; his daughter-in-law Gail Hunter; his granddaughter Mashele McClure; his great grandchildren, Pamella McClure and Dharius McClure; and his siblings, Tim Hunter (Pam) of Oliver Springs, Dewayne Hunter of Johnson City, TN, Lola Blalock of Coalfield, Rita Hunter of Oak Ridge and Peggy Silvey (James) of Oliver Springs. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
