She was predeceased by: her grandsons, Ricky Joe Stem, Jr. and Jason Christopher Cole; her parents, Isaac Landis Flippen and Lena Katherine Flippen (Bennett); her siblings, Billy Flippen of Joe Flippen, J. W, Marvin Flippen, Ruby Warner and Evelyn Grishom; her son-in-law Joseph Connolly; and her brothers-in-law, Jerry Bullock and Jerry Jackson.

She is survived by: her children, Ricky Stem (Diane), Clifford "Pete" Stem (Cheryl), Brenda Connolly and Donald Stem (Sherri); her grandchildren, Stephanie Godwin (Jeff), Lindsay Cole, Chad Stem, Craig Stem, Lee Stem, Logan Stem and Jonathan Stem; her great grandchildren, Austin Godwin, Ryan Godwin, Gracie Godwin, Madelyn "Maddie" Cole, Katie Cole, Kendall Cole, Bennett Stem and Graham Godwin; and her sisters, Aline Bullock and Dorothy Jackson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
