He was predeceased by: his parents, E. R. Neely, Sr. and Annie Walls Neely; and his siblings, Annie May Gann (Bob) and Leslie Neely, Sr. (Helen). He is survived by: his spouse Carnelle Neely (Connie); his brother-in-law Jim Agnew; and his nieces and nephews, Les Neely (Deb), Kris Neely (Jen), Cathy Arnold (Rick), Doug Arnold (Kimberly), Becca Whitehead (Brent), Donna Meyers (Greg), Shelby Maldonado (Michael) and Nick Meyers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arlington Methodist Church, 1360 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37217.
