It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilmer Thompson of Oakland, Tennessee, born in Somerville, Tennessee, who passed away on January 21, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Andy Redford Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Morrow Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Velma Kee Thompson of Oakland, TN; his children, Sandra Thompson Lenard (Danny) of Bells, TN, Wilmer Ray Thompson (Rita) of Arlington, TN and Ben Thompson of Oakland, TN; his brother Alfred Thompson (Shelia) of Selmer, TN; and his grandchildren, Stephen Lazar (Rachel), Lois Thompson (Quincy), Lauren Russell (Jason), Chelsea Watts (Josh), Chrissy McKenzie (David), Taylor Thompson (Sara), Andrew Thompson and Madison Thompson. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
