It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Jean Melendy of Oakland, Tennessee, who passed away on January 27, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Gilbreath and Mamie Gilbreath; and her siblings, Doris Bruce, Glen Gilbreath, Sam Gilbreath, Martha Lynn Gilbreath, Horace Gilbreath and Kay Hill.

She is survived by: her husband Tom Melendy; her daughter Kim Donovan (Pat); her stepdaughter Gerri Rick (Jeff); her grandchildren, Anthony Rick (Brooke), Tasha Louison (Jeremy) and Caleb Rick (Bailey); her great grandchildren, Silas, Ezra, Ruby, Ava, Isabella, Sophia, Barrett and Easton; and her siblings, Helen Step, Myra Rickard (Billy), Jan Owen (Wayne), Herschel Gilbreath and Rita Carlyn.

In lieu of flowers, donations are to be sent in memoriam to Colontown a Paltown Community for Colorectal Cancer research and awareness.
