She was predeceased by: her parents, Elva Ernest "Buzz" Cary and Ellen Claire Porterfield Cary; and her brother John Hale Cary. She is survived by: her daughter Emily Davidson Smith; her son-in-law Lee; her grandchildren, Isaac and Eden of Garner, NC; her nieces, Laura Simmons (Steve), Rebekah Garrett and Christin Payne (Lenny); and her nephew John Cary, Jr. (Jennifer). She is also survived by many other cousins and lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Gideons International or Samaritan's Purse.
