She was predeceased by: her parents, Delcie Mason Freshour and Mose Franklin Freshour; her husband Lloyd "Dobie" Burnette; her daughter-in-law Lynn Burnette; and her siblings, James Linton Freshour, Mose Freshour, Judy Freshour, Elizabeth Freshour, Mary Edith Hill, Ethylene Ottinger, Almeda Baker and Marcella Burnett.
She is survived by: her sons, Stan and Tim Burnette; her daughter-in-law Courtney Burnette; her granddaughters, Chloe and Camille Burnette; her sister Brenda Burns; and her close friends, Donna Russell, Martha Daugherty, Julie Rochelle and Momma Kay. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, fellow church members, friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith Trinity Chapel (1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Faubion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital either by mail or on line in honor of Kay Burnette.
