He was predeceased by: his parents, Jane Mathis and James Fate Milton; his wife Marilyn Joyce Milton; his son Dale Howard Milton; his stepson Bryan N. Smitherman; and his siblings, Garland, Louis, Lester, Oscar, Hooper, Donald Milton and Nellie Jones.
He is survived by: his daughter Judy Milton Norman; his stepson Anthony Ray Smitherman (Karen); his grandsons, Seth Thomas Norman (Andrea) and Jason Walker Norman; and his great grandchildren, Olivia Emerson Norman and Laurel Grace Norman.
