He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Schmidt and Loretta Ozechowski McAuley Schmidt; and his siblings, Raymond John Schmidt and Caroline Waterson. He is survived by: his children, Penny Pine (Jamie), Mitch Schmidt of Nashville, Tammy Rogue (Lezara), Carol VanNoort (Brigsley), Dana Schmidt of Normandy and John Schmidt (Sally) of Shelbyville; and his sister Loraine Taffat. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.
