Hubert R. McCoy Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hubert R. McCoy of Niota, Tennessee, who passed away on January 23, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey McCoy and Laura Ethel McCoy (Mills); his children, James Allen McCoy and Marcia Lynn McCoy; his in-laws, Joseph and Mildred Brakebill (Edgmon); and his siblings, Pierce, Dexter, Earl, Virgie, Jeptha, Dorothy, Dora and Judith.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Brakebill McCoy; his sister Bonnie; and his grandsons, Kevin Rumbolt, Matthew Rumbolt, Jake Grayson and Max Grayson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home (521 N Jackson St, Athens, TN 37371). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the McMinn Memory Gardens (1727-1739 Co Rd 560, Athens, TN 37303).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Wounded Warriors Family Support (wwfs.org) or the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org).
