He is survived by: his sisters, Mattie McCowan (Robert) and Minnie Long; his children, Chester Smith (Marsenia), Jean Crenshaw (Paul), Jackie Johnson (Ray), Joey Smith (Robin) and Steven Smith (Rita); and his granddaughter Darlene. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
