He was predeceased by: his wife Juanita Cline Hefner. He is survived by: his sons, Richard "Rick" Hefner (Vera), Michael "Mike" Hefner and Randall "Randy" Hefner (Melanie); and his grandchildren, Derek Hefner, Lucas Hefner, Tyler Hefner, Ashlyn Hefner, Amelia Hefner and Ian Hefner. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
