He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Barbara Samples Smith; his children, Tracey Smith-Worex of Newport and Todd Smith (Jill) of Sevierville; his grandchildren, Lindsay Smith of Sevierville, Noah Smith of Sevierville, Rocky Worex of Newport and Casey Webb of Newport; his great grandchild Payton Worex of Newport; his sister Paula Pannell (Evert) of Newport; his sisters-in-law, June Samples of Newport and Bunny Hosey of Ohio; and his close friend Drema Clark of Newport. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
