She is survived by: her husband Charles Ed Cates; her daughter Melanie Cates of Atlanta; her brothers, Larry Butler (Vickie) of Knoxville and Lonnie Butler of Baneberry; her siblings-in-law, Ernestine Butler Presnell of Newport and Harold Cates (Joan) of Newport; and her nieces and nephews, Barbara Fine of Newport, Vickie Costner (Rusty) of Alabama, Kim Parton of Knoxville, Rhonda Ottinger (L. D.) of Newport, Terry Butler (Sherry) of Newport, Ben Butler (Jill) of Knoxville and Hal Cates (Carolyn) of Knoxville.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel (363 E Main St, Newport, TN 37821). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
