It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John R. Owenby (Newport, Tennessee), who passed away on August 26, 2018, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Ethel Owneby (Stinnett); his mother-in-law Barbara Sneed; and his sisters, Ola Large and Shirley Mills. He is survived by: his wife Mervene Sneed Owenby; his son John Christopher Owenby of Newport; his sister-in-law Johnnie Ownby of Newport; and also, Rebecca France of Newport, Marilyn Gentry, Richard Gentry of Dandridge, Manuel Sneed, Sheila Sneed of Georgia, Alfred Sneed and Faye Sneed of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, church family, neighbors and many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Jack's memory to Northport Baptist Church, 488 Duncan Street, Newport, TN 37821.
