He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Russell and Jessie Mae Russell; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Gentry, Herbert Gentry, Maurice Gentry, Jackie Gentry, Cheryl Gentry, Barbara Parker, Herman, Ronnie, Norman, Wayne and Bill.

He is survived by: his wife Annette Russell; his children, Dewayne William "Chip" Russell (Sandra) of Knoxville, Heidi K. Freshour (Dennis) of Newport and Jade Russell (Emmanuel Hernandez) of Dandridge; his sisters, Carolyn Moorefield (Bill) of Newport and Myra Hodges of Newport; his grandchildren, Olivia Russell of Knoxville, Andrew Billingsley of Knoxville, Adam Freshour of Newport, Cole Freshour of Newport and EJ Hernandez of Dandridge; his great grandchildren, Payton Billngsley of Knoxville, Natalyn Billingsley of Knoxville and Major Billingsley of Knoxville; and his sisters-in-law, Alice Gentry, Janice Gentry, Joyce Gentry, Eva Dean Gentry, Janine Gentry and Tammy Gentry. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
