He was predeceased by: his grandmother Mary Luvada Bugg; his parents, Sue Ella Lovell and Alex Jenkins; his wife Brenda Sue Bugg; his brother William David Messer; and his great grandchild Leleyah Rose Simmons.
He is survived by: his sisters, Francis Sue Chandler and Georgia Louisa Barnes; his daughter Lynn Hightower (Alfred Dwayne Bailey); his grandchildren, Jacob, Jerimiah Hightower and Victoria Lynn Simmons (Andrew Edney); his great grandchildren, Adrick and Braxton Simmons; his daughter Tammy Simmons-Cody (Eddie); his grandson Elijah Cody; his niece Missy Reagan; and his nephews, Christopher Chandler (Mary Anne), Courtney Nicole Chandler, Caleb Chandler, Billy Reagan and Thurman Theodore Chandler. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
