He was predeceased by: his sons, Matthew Lynn and Lemmy Ray Harper. He is survived by: his wife Emma Lou Harper of Newport; his children, Robert Harper of Newport and Linda Baxter of Newport; and his siblings, Phillip "Chip" Bryant of Newport, Nancy Johnson of Newport, Betty Ruth Williams of Cosby, Lora "Tootie" Breeden of Cosby and Sarah Stuart of Cosby.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
