He was predeceased by: his parents, James B. Newsome and Annie Laurie Shipman Newsome. He is survived by: his daughter Brittany Via of Farmington; his sisters, Laura Weaver of Dyer and Margaret Lents (Rickey) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; his nephews, Jim Lents of Cape Girardeau, Walter Lents of Cape Girardeau, Jeff Lents (Annika) of Aurora, John Michael Foster of Edwardsville and David Foster (Jessica) of Trenton, Tennessee; and his friend Tanya Sandlin of Newbern, Tennessee.. He is also survived by three great nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Johnson-Williams Funeral Home (239 E Main St, Newbern, TN 38059). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home (239 E Main St, Newbern, TN 38059).
