He was predeceased by: his parents, E. B. Walton and Maud Frazier Walton; and his siblings, Wess Walton, Ernest Walton, Reed Walton, Sue Williams, Rebecca Butler, Louise Walton and Elizabeth Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Ladd Walton of Newbern, Tennessee; his daughter Anne Ladd Welch (Joe); his brother Joe Tyree Walton of Pawleys Island; and his grandsons, Jack Welch and Will Welch.
