It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel C. Evans of Newbern, Tennessee, born in Dyer, Tennessee, who passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Evans and Mary Frances Mercer Evans; his wife Earline Carroll Evans; and his siblings, Earl Evans, Jim Evans, Lizzie Evans Davis, Minnie Ellen Evans McManis, Mattcie Evans Butler and Olis Alsup.
He is survived by: his children, Charles E. Evans (Melinda) of Dyersburg, Randy Evans (Sherron) of Newbern, Tennessee and Linda Evans King (Jerry) of Millington, Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Kim Sims, Stacie Purvis (Randy), Tony Chilcutt, Mickey Evans (Lori), Tisha Evans, Katherine Evans (Wesley), Courtnee Wilkes, Calyn McMinn (Matt), Ashley Abbott and Zachary King. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
