He was predeceased by: his parents, William T. Parnell and Leila Johnson Parnell; his wife Mary L. Williamson Parnell; and his brother Thomas Darrell Parnell. He is survived by: his children, Randy Parnell (Tami) of Newbern, Ronnie Parnell of Newbern, Tennessee and Angie Pittman (Bobby) of Ripley, Tennessee; and his brother William Edward Parnell of Newbern. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Due to the current pandemic conditions and the family's concern for the health and welfare for others a private family graveside service for Sgt. Parnell will be 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee.
