He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Stanton and Rebecca Sargent Stanton; his wife Carolyn Eddlemon Stanton; his stepdaughter Stephanie Faith Eddleman; and his siblings, Margaret L. Stanton, Ruby F. Stanton, Marvin Stanton, Omar Stanton and Clarence E. Stanton.
He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Jean Thompson of Union City, Joyce Ann Eddlemon of Kenton and Mary Beth Bartlett of Newbern. He is also survived by nine step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
