He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ralph Carpenter and Myrtle Irene Anderson Carpenter; and his sister-in-law Linda Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Kolwyck Carpenter of Newbern, Tennessee; his daughter Casey Carpenter of Newbern, Tennessee; and his brothers, Jerry Carpenter of Martin and Larry "Pete" Carpenter (Pat) of Newbern. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
