He is survived by: his wife Barbara Tunnell Fortner of Newbern; his children, Betty Bennett (Jim) of Woodbine, Venessa Herring (Richie) of St. Petersburg, Ivy McGreger of Gibson, Tennessee, James Marion Fortner (Tammy) of Boonville, Missouri and Nancy Agrestra (Tony) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; his siblings, Francis Clark of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Charles Fortner of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Richard Fortner of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and his sisters-in-law, Wanda Moores (Kenny) of Woodbine and Jeri Lou Burger (Steve) of Evansville, Indiana.. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
