He was predeceased by: his daughter Tammy Peel; and his brother Harold Sander. He is survived by: his wife Edna Sander of Newbern; his children, Howard W. Sander, Jr. of Lenoir City, Victoria J. Pike of Cheyenne, WY and Melissa Sander Wall of McEwen; his siblings, Evelyn Daughtery of Cream Ridge, N. J. and Benjamin Sander of Cream Ridge, N. J.; and his grandchildren, Elisha Childress (Crosby), Jonathan Rogers (Holly), Hunter Evans (Michelle), Katlin Sander, Shelby Shaw (Zach), Isaiah Wall, Howard Sander III and Aciana Sander. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
