He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie W. Scobey and Lessie Fitzgerald Scobey; his wife Minnie Maclin Scobey; and his siblings, Johnnie Scobey, Glen Marshall Scobey and Rebecca Austin.
He is survived by: his children, Barry Scobey (Connie) of Newbern, William "Billy" Scobey (Jennifer) of Obion, Tennessee and Cindy Pledge (Jackie) of Newbern. He is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
