She was predeceased by: her parents, Lane Battles and Eva Brown Battles Phenix (Freeman); and her siblings, Alonzo Battles and Linda Tucker. She is survived by: her husband Kevin Gilliland of Newbern, Tennessee; her son Mark Graves (Dee) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; her stepsons, Brandon Gilliland (Shannon) of Colorado Springs and Brent Gilliland (Mandy) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and her siblings, Danny Battles (Rhonda) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Mary Lou Hendrix (Jimmy) of Dyersburg, Dean McDonald of Dyersburg, Kay Phenix of Obion, Tennessee and Tommy Moore of Hohenwald, Tennessee.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
