He is survived by: his children, Steven L. Rushing of Nashville, Tennessee, Margaret L. Rushing of Newbern and Anna J. Newman (Rick) of Alamo, Tennessee; his sister Virgie Adair (John) of Newbern; and his grandchildren, Anna Parker, Joleen Newman, Christian B. Hayes, Jeremiah Johnson, Chase Burton, Rachel Knox, Heather Salley, Chelsea L. Rushing, Shayna M. Rushing and Taylor L. Rushing. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
