It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melissa Mae Middleton of New Tazewell, Tennessee, born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, who passed away on October 27, 2022, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her brothers, Christopher Cody Middleton and Mark Anthony Middleton; her nephew Adam Cody Emert; and her grandparents, Ray Compton, Nadine Roberts Compton, Silas Middleton and Mary Shular Middleton.
She is survived by: her parents, Judy Ann Compton Middleton and Billy Gene Middleton; her sons, Joshua Shumate and Dustin Shumate; her siblings, Tina Middleton Chapman and Justin Middleton (Elizabeth); her nieces and nephews, Roxy, Riley, Chris and Eli Middleton; her aunts, Helen Mize and Mary Compton; and her uncle Mike Compton.
