He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Toots" Raines and Doxie Lee White Raines; his great grandchildren, Maxwell Grayson Raines and Karson Collins; and his siblings, Eddie Raines, Opal Raines, Rufus Perry Raines, Phillip Raines, Granville Raines, Thelma Lou Rains, Fred Raines and Jerry Raines.
He is survived by: his children, Clarence James Raines (Jamiel) and Thomas Christopher Raines; the mother of his children Brenda Kay Kibert; his stepdaughter Violet Hunter; and his sister Brenda Gail Mason (Clarence). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
