He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Bennett and Virginia Owens Bennett; his siblings, Jean Labumbard, Jerry Bennett and James "Jimmy" Hamlin; and his sister-in-law Judy Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Irvin Bennett; his children, Sue, Paul Gilpin, Lora, Jason Fleeman, B. J. Bennett, Amanda, Carla and Rodney Fortner; and his siblings, Sue, Ann Bennett, Nellie Bennett, Weisenbach, David Bennett and William "Bill" Bennett. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
