It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Kirk Pettit of New Market, Tennessee, born in Mohawk, Tennessee, who passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Estle "Bub" Kirk and Mary Alice Kirk (Bible); her husband Doyle Pettit; her sons, Tony, Mark and Doug; her daughters-in-law, Gabriella, Tina and Melanie; her grandchildren, Kate (Ben Eller), Jessika, Rebekah (Britton Robinson), Molly (Alex Hall), Maggie and Grayson Pettit; and her great grandchild John William Pettit.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 18th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Fielden Funeral Home, Inc. (910 Churchview St, New Market, TN 37820). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Fairview Baptist Cemetery (6410 McDonald Rd, Mohawk, TN 37810).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Nance Grove Baptist Church's College Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 337, New Market, Tn. 37820 or Parrott-Wood Public Library in Strawberry Plains, TN.
