She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Scruggs and Bernice Scruggs; her husband James R. Zirkle; her daughter Mary Colleen Rogers; and her brothers, Herbert Eugene Scruggs and Lewis M. Scruggs Jr..
She is survived by: her pet Penny; her children, James H. Zirkle (Rebecca) and Carolyn Petty (William); her grandchildren, Wayne Coker, Christy Sacra (Matt), Teresa Johnson (Josh) and Cindy Edwards (Douglas); and her sister Betty Chambers. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Heart Association.
