He was predeceased by: his parents, Esco Carey and Bennie Mae Carey; and his sister Shirley Navarre. He is survived by: his wife Fonda Carey; his son Mike Carey (Monica); his granddaughters, Amaya Rodriguez (Alejandro) and Emma Carey; and his siblings, Phyllis Bostic (Warren), Ronnie Carey and Dennis Carey (Michelle). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
