He is survived by: his parents-in-law, W. R. and Ina Hayes; his siblings-in-law, Willa Dean Huffaker of New Market, Jack (Earlene Hayes) of New Market and Bob Hayes of Talbott; his nephews, Richie Hayes of Knoxville, Johnny James of Jefferson City and Rodger Hayes of Talbott; and his niece Belinda Miller-Rudd.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Beech Springs Baptist Church in Kodak.
